About the course

Welcome to the Structured Interview for Bipolar At-Risk States (SIBARS) Practitioner Training Course. Maudsley Learning, in collaboration with the Outreach and Support in South London (OASIS) team at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London University, has been commissioned to deliver online SIBARS training to staff working in early detection or intervention psychosis services or similar services.

Learning objectives

By the end of the course, participants will have acquired advanced clinical knowledge in the following areas:

  • Understanding the rationale for the prevention of bipolar disorders.
  • Becoming familiar with the key aspects of detecting emerging bipolar disorders.
  • Describing the foundations and core concepts of the Structured Interview for Bipolar At-Risk State (SIBARS) and how these are used to detect emerging mood disorders.
  • Describing and discussing operational and pragmatic considerations for SIBARS assessment in clinical settings.
